Section Deadline

Mr Oates will be away on a trip next week.

Your tasks is to complete a final version on the Section 4 assignment using the work done in class. You will have already completed final versions of section 1-3.

When I return you will be given a final grade for Unit 5 and we will begin Unit 4.

Unit 5 Presentations: The Final

Sunday you will be doing a final presentation for section 2 of your coursework. The reality check of the exam has come in and you will be feeling the need to get yourself straight.

The next 3 weeks we will complete this unit with all improvements.

There is a new version of the assignment brief on Fronter which has split our section 2 & 3 apart. You will also complete the section 4 of the assignment brief.


Unit 6 Exam Feedback

Let me know how you thought the exam went either by email or comment!

I liked a lot of the questions on Ambient Media, Branding, Public Relations, Evaluating a sales promotion, Newspapers, Window Displays (Joke question).

I said that radio advertising might come up! Good job we looked at some examples even though it was only a 4 marker.

The 8-10 questions were a bit mixed. Question 8 on leaflets you will have smashed

Question 9 on ethical concerns which resulted in the changes in promotion is a round about way of asking about voluntary codes businesses might have signed up to and you could have used Bombadier to answer this. The final part of that question where it asks one negative aspect of the way in which the businesses showed customers that it was taking their concerns into account... That bit was a toughie! It was still showing  the advert in an altered way where alcohol was promoted as fun and exciting. This could be seen to ignore customer concerns.

Question 10 was also asked in a daft way. Moving image and spoken word... Why not just call it a video advertisement? Bah
